GHope to invest RM40mil for biodiesel plant in Netherlands
GOLDEN Hope Plantations Bhd will invest US$40mil to develop a biodiesel plant in Rotterdam, Netherlands with a production capacity of 150,000 tonnes annually.
Speaking at the group’s Hari Raya open house in Kuala Lumpur yesterday, group chief executive Datuk Sabry Ahmad said that the proposed biodiesel plant was a joint venture with an Austria-based energy company and the parties were expected to sign the agreement on the project next month.
He, however, declined to name the company.
“The plant will start producing in 12 to 18 months because the basic infrastructure is there already,” he said.
Sabry said the biodiesel would be exported mostly to Europe and Far East countries such as Japan, Korea and China. – Bernama
